Greetings in that great name of Jesus;

The book of Numbers, chapter 35, tells of the command from God to establish the “cities of refuge.” There, those judged to have taken a life by accident or in self-defense could reside in safety from the family of the deceased, who had a blood rite to execute the death sentence. Those living in the cities were known as the “slayers” and those committed to the execution of the death sentence were known as the “avengers of blood.”

No amount of money could be paid by the “slayer” to purchase his freedom to return to his home. For his safety, he had to reside in the “city of refuge” until his death; for the death sentence was upon him and only with his death would the sentence be lifted. There was one exception; the death of the high priest, it would atone for the trespass of his shedding of blood. Because of his life’s work of atonement for the sins of the people, God would accept the “death of the high priest” in exchange for the death of the “slayer.” When the high priest died, the “slayer” could legally return to his home in peace and safety from the “avenger of blood.” With no means of modern communication; it then became the obligation of every Israeli to share and spread the news of the death of the high priest.

Atonement had occurred. The type is profound and the message clear; all have sinned and come short of the purity of God. The wages or sentence of sin- is death… and only by our death or thru the atonement work of Christ, our high priest, can the sentence be lifted. Aren’t you glad for the atonement work of Christ? When Christ died, I was set free…!

It now has become the responsibility of every citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven to share and spread the news of the “death of our high priest.” Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved and he that believes not shall be damned.” There are almost two hundred nations around the globe that need to hear the good news of the gospel; his death, burial and resurrection.

We here at Soul’s Port take this obligation seriously; the world needs Jesus. Paul wrote to the Corinthian church that if our gospel was hid or unknown… it was hidden and unknown to them that are lost. There is no other salvation under heaven, given among men whereby we must be saved. Come join us in our expedition to contact our world… we need your help! If you haven’t repented from dead works; repent! If you haven’t been baptized in the name of Christ Jesus; be baptized! For the promise of his Holy Spirit is yours! Receive it in Jesus name!

Come; let us militantly attack our world with the gospel of peace!
